Research
Finding fresh approaches is our specialty. At the outset, our design engineers uncover everything that’s important to you in the effort-budget, look and feel, materials requirements, audience influences – and use those as filters for exploring a variety of approaches.
Inspiration can come from just about anywhere – architecture, automotive, nature, engineering principles, other technology products. Our goal is to find the new approaches or proven methods that best fit what you need. We explore materials that complement that vision and help you get closer to your goals.
Design
From old-fashioned sketching right to 3D rendering, we explore every aspect of your solution during design. We also look at costing as early as possible to ensure that what we present fits within your budget. And because our designers work in Solidworks and ProE, we can start packaging design even before you have a product prototype. We work right from your 3D files, which means you get 3D perspective of the concepts we develop right from the start.
Because we manufacture about 75% of our designs, we have an extensive knowledge of materials and make methods. We can quickly and easily build costing matrices that allow you to quickly identify where you are on your parameters.
Implementation
Once you’ve selected a design direction, we make physical mock-ups using different materials to explore all the options. Whether the final design ends up in molded pulp, thermoform plastic, or some other material, we want to know what it looks like, how it feels, and how it will hold up. We do testing to evaluate our options and validate the design at this stage to create efficiencies throughout production.
Our implementation efforts can range from creating SLAs or box samples on the CAD table to developing prototype tooling and molded parts. In addition to physical testing, we also provide packaging samples for user testing or focus groups.

Whether you manufacture your own packages or need a resource that can take the process from design all the way through manufacturing, Uneka can set you up for success. Our design files are tool-ready from the very beginning, which means you can ramp up for mass production very quickly.
